The University Center for Assessment, Teaching, and Technology partners with Quality Matters (QM), a nonprofit quality assurance organization known for a nationally recognized set of standards for online course design.
Why Quality Matters
As a member of QM, we underscore our mission of providing excellence in online education by creating courses that meet and exceed the standards outlined by Quality Matters. There are three core components to QM; the Rubric, professional development, and the review process.
QM is a widely recognized, international benchmark for quality in online course design. The three core components of Quality Matters compliment and support many crucial activities on campus.

Quality Matters Internal Reviews
A QM internal review (QMIR) is the process we use to recognize outstanding course design. Courses that meet the review standards receive a QMIR badge that can be placed on the homepage of your course and are recognized on our website.
Quality Matters Workshops & Webinars
Quality Matters workshops are free, professional growth opportunities offered to all UArizona instructors. Participants who complete certain workshops will also receive certificates from Quality Matters.

Quality Matters Faculty Fellowship
This fellowship is a way to give back to your professional community as you gain important practical experience as an online course evaluator. The knowledge you gain will make you a valuable pedagogical consultant within your respective department and within your field.
