The University of Arizona provides access to a growing suite of generative AI (GenAI) tools and guidance on using them responsibly.
Not all AI tools handle your data the same way. Before you explore what's available, it's worth understanding what to share, what to protect, and why it matters. The U of A-supported tools below have been vetted for academic use, and several are specifically designed with privacy in mind. That makes them a good starting point for instructors who want to use AI confidently and model responsible practice for students.
Privacy and Intellectual Property
Information in prompts given to generative AI tools could be exposed. Do not use confidential information in prompts. Alert your students to privacy and security issues. When using AI tools, read warnings, privacy policies, and terms of use. Don’t copy-and-paste or upload intellectual property, including student work, without permission from the creator.
