2026 conferences celebrated the power of assessment and storytelling
The Arizona Regional Assessment Conference, held on April 10, 2026, at Paradise Valley Community College, brought together educators, assessment professionals, and institutional leaders to explore innovative strategies for advancing student success and institutional effectiveness in higher education. Featuring a keynote address by Dr. Divya Bheda, the conference offered a dynamic program of interactive sessions on topics such as curriculum mapping, gamified assessment, leveraging AI in assessment design, mastery-based grading, and stakeholder engagement.
The 2026 U of A Assessment Conference, "Stories of Impact: The Art and Practice of Storytelling", brought together faculty, staff, and assessment professionals from across the University of Arizona to explore how assessment can move beyond compliance and become a powerful tool for understanding and improving student learning. Through presentations on instructional practices, equity, civic learning, artificial intelligence, and program evaluation, participants examined how data and storytelling work together to illuminate student experiences, drive meaningful change, and communicate institutional impact.
The U of A Assessment Conference featured a keynote speech by Glenn Philips, senior insights consultant at Watermark Insights, who connected assessment storytelling to memorable moments in Olympic history.
