Supporting inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices, course design, and instructional technologies to create engaging learning environments.
Student Focused, Faculty Driven
Creating a meaningful learning experience — one where inspiration and engagement thrive — is not just about using technology in the classroom. It’s about integrating technology into an existing teaching practice in a mutually beneficial way. The team at the University Center for Assessment, Teaching and Technology (UCATT) helps instructors transform ideas into effective teaching strategies that optimize learning for all students.
Teaching Tools You Need, In One Place
The mission of UCATT is to build capacity for excellence in teaching. To that end, we offer a learning-centered toolkit packed with everything our instructors need: professional development courses, mentor programs, multimedia solutions, digital technology and support services.

Course Design Starts with an Idea
When you’re ready to implement your ideas into a learner-driven course, we’re here to help. We provide hands-on course development and curriculum design, collaborating closely with instructors to ensure a seamless integration of teaching methods, best practices and useful digital technology.
Our Instructional Technology team provides instructors with direct support for D2L, showing you how to leverage its capabilities in the best way possible for student success.
Our Instructional Technology team also supports integrated tools — such as PlayPosit, VoiceThread and Panopto — that instructors can employ to enrich student learning.
Our Adobe team supports faculty across campus in implementing curriculum that embraces digital literacy and the creative process using the Adobe Creative Suite — both inside and outside the classroom.
The Measure of Success
Assessing learning outcomes is key to the development of a world-class educational institution. Our team at UCATT works with individual instructors and with academic programs to refine learning outcomes, develop effective tools to assess student learning and find ways to use learning data to improve teaching and learning.
