Join the Writing Across the Curriculum team throughout the year to dive into artificial intelligence and writing pedagogy! We will explore different topics on AI and writing, specifically thinking through practical teaching approaches and using writing as a tool for learning. ou are welcome to join one or all events in the AI Writing Series. If you attend 4 out of the 6, you will receive a certificate and letter for your dossier. Participants are welcome from all universities, spaces, and experience with AI and writing.
There is no way to detect AI writing that isn’t fraught with bias, assumptions, and false negatives/positives; however, we often feel that we can spot AI writing. In the final Fall workshop, we will focus on what this means and how we know/how we guess something is written by AI. We will address assumptions and focus on practical strategies for preparing students within our fields to navigate these writing conventions and promote discourse with our students.
