This online mini-course balances the technical "how-to" of online tools with the pedagogical "why." Participants will draft a course plan that aligns intended learning outcomes with activities and assessment; practice building a well-organized course site in Brightspace; learn how to humanize and enhance a sense of community with tools such as video and announcements; and integrate effective and efficient methods of assessment to engage interest and support learning.
Audience: First-time online instructors, graduate students new to online teaching.
