Inspired by the conversations and connections sparked at the UCATT Teaching Exchange Symposium, this virtual workshop series invites participants to revisit popular sessions, explore new perspectives, and continue exchanging ideas throughout the year.

Serving the community is at the heart of the land grant identity. To deliver on this promise, students, faculty and staff must be engaged in meaningful partnerships within and beyond the University of Arizona. In this presentation, we will review foundational principles for community-engaged learning and intersections with experiential learning theory. Then, we will discuss how we have implemented a community-engaged experiential learning model in three different teaching and learning contexts in the School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness. Not only is community-engaged experiential learning deeply aligned with UA as a land-grant institution, it also integrates several high impact teaching practices that are meaningful to both the student and the instructor.
