AI and Assessment: Reframing the Challenge

The arrival of generative AI has upended the educational landscape, leaving us to re-evaluate some of the most foundational practices in our courses, including assessment. In this first of four workshops on AI and Assessment, we will focus on the opportunities that arise when we reframe our thinking around this issue:

• What happens when we see AI and assessment as a “wicked problem” to navigate rather than a "tame problem" to solve?
• What freedoms does this framing offer in developing solutions?
• With this mindset can we take advantage of a framework that redefines how we approach assessment? 

During this 90-minute online, synchronous workshop, participants will work with each other and the facilitators to explore a framework for developing new assessments or revising existing ones.
