Valentin R. Mancha

Assistant Director, Digital Communications

Valentin R. Mancha is the Assistant Director of Digital Communications at the University Center for Assessment, Teaching, and Technology (UCATT). In this role, he leads a wide range of visual design projects, including screen-based media, website layouts, apps, print projects as well as other digital experiences. He prioritizes human-centered design, ensuring that content is not only visually compelling but also effectively communicates its message and enhances the user experience.

Mancha holds a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Computer Information Systems from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and a Master of Science in Graphic Information Technology from Arizona State University (ASU), specializing in Human-Centered Design and UX/UI. His passions include minimalistic design, fine art, conceptual art, typography, and letterpress, with a strong belief in the Bauhaus philosophy that form follows function; good design should reduce mental effort.

Before joining UArizona, Mancha spent over 15 years in the private sector. At Sanders Wingo Advertising in El Paso, Texas, he contributed to national ad campaigns for major clients, including AT&T, Frito-Lay, Sprint Corp., Honeywell, Magnavox, Philips, RCA, United Way, Helen of Troy, Ford Motor Co., and the Susan G. Komen Organization.
