Join us for the Writing Across the Curriculum Faculty Fellows Teaching Symposium, a two-day event that showcases innovative and equity-driven approaches to writing in courses across the disciplines. This year’s theme—“Writing with AI, Assignment Design & Assessment”—centers on designing meaningful, inclusive writing experiences for students in the age of generative AI.

What You’ll Experience

  • Learn directly from WAC Faculty Fellows about curriculum innovations, capstone projects, and writing-to-learn strategies
  • Participate in hands-on sessions to revise or create assignments, assessment tools, or syllabus statements for Fall 2025
  • Connect with instructors across campus who are advancing writing pedagogy in diverse contexts

Day 1: August 7

  • Welcome & WAC Overview
  • Two rounds of Faculty Fellow Lead Interactive Roundtables on AI, Assignment Design, and Assessment
  • Reflection: What to implement in Fall & what to bring for Day 2

Day 2: August 8

  • Warm-up activity
  • Two interactive workshops (re)designing activities for Fall
  • Bring a syllabus statement, assignment, or assessment to work on
  • Reflection & peer feedback
