Dr. Angela Gunder is a member of the Digital Learning team of UCATT, providing support to the faculty of the College of Information Science for course quality and design. Additionally, she is the CEO of Opened Culture, a pioneering collaboratory that empowers educators to advance access to education through open collaboration, academic innovation, and community engagement. From 2019-2024, Angela was the CAO of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), leading a comprehensive portfolio of services and initiatives reaching educators at over 850 member institutions across the globe. From 2014-2019, Angela served as the director of instructional design and curriculum development for the U of A Office of Digital Learning, leading the team that builds the fully online programs for the university.

From 2020-2024, Angela served as the OLC lead for a grant from The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation focused on digital learning equity. In this role, she co-authored numerous publications on equitable online design and teaching practices, caring for students, and academic innovation. Her contributions to the field have been internationally recognized by organizations such as UNESCO, the Hewlett Foundation, MIT Open Learning, MERLOT, and the OLC, who named her a fellow in 2019.

Angela is an online instructor for the College of Information Science, teaching courses on instructional design, digital media, gameful learning, and artificial intelligence (AI). Her research focuses on AI literacies, open education, narrative digital learning practices, and emerging technology for language acquisition. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Fine Art from Fordham University, a M.Ed. in Education Technology from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies from The University of Arizona, where in 2020 she was named an Erasmus Scholar by the College of Education for her commitment to the college, the university and to the community.
