Enhancing Accessibility with Arizona Ally
At the University of Arizona, we are committed to establishing an inclusive, accessible learning environment for all students. In line with this vision, we are excited to spotlight Arizona Ally.
How Is Arizona Ally Beneficial in Course Design?
Accessibility Reports and Feedback
Instructors using Arizona Ally will get detailed reports and feedback on their courses regarding accessibility. The reports include simple tips and suggestions aimed to help the instructors improve course content accessibility.
Alternative Format Options
One of the significant advantages of Arizona Ally is its ability to generate alternative formats for course materials. This feature supports quality course design and, for courses aiming for Quality Matters certification, can help meet QM Standard 8, which emphasizes the importance of the course materials’ accessibility and usability. Specifically, providing alternative means of access to course content (Standard 8.3), it helps meet the needs of diverse learners. Having Arizona Ally applied to the course materials, students can now choose the format that best suits their needs, enhancing their learning experience and supporting their success.
Complementing Disability-Related Accommodations
While Arizona Ally is not a replacement for disability-related accommodations, and we strongly encourage you to connect with the Disability Resource Center for more information about accommodations, Arizona Ally complements the accommodations from the DRC by providing additional options for broader accessibility.
