Emily Jo Schwaller (she/her) supports instructors in developing inclusive assignments and assessments, implementing meaningful writing and reflection into courses, and grappling and playing with artificial intelligence. Her research can be found in New Directions for Teaching and Learning, International Journal of ePortfolio, and Composition Studies.
When not working she enjoys her two cats, birding, and singing in Tucson Masterworks Chorale.
Current activities include:
- Consulting with instructors and facilitating professional development on writing, teaching, and artificial intelligence
- Designing and supporting instructors through resources and the WAC website
- Collaborating with the Writing Center, U of A Library, Coalition of Writing, and other writing support offices and initiatives across campus
- Teaching in the College Teaching GIDP
- Co-running the Antiracist WAC Faculty Fellows and advocating for linguistic justice on campus
- Researching meaningful writing at an HSI as a CUES Distinguished Fellow
