Graduate students and postdocs are essential teachers at our institution, and we are lucky to have learned from them in two different teaching programs. This year, we had 38 graduates from the Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) and the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) programs, both of which are housed in the University Center for Assessment, Teaching, and Technology (UCATT).

The CCT is a 10-credit graduate program in the College Teaching GIDP where students across all disciplines hone their teaching skills and practices by focusing on learner-centered design, incorporating evidence-based practices into the classroom, and getting feedback on their teaching skills.

The CIRTL program is part of an international network of research institutions helping prepare STEM graduate students, postdocs, and early-career faculty for teaching in higher education. Participants can earn three micro credentials—associate, practitioner, and scholar—by participating in professional development programs, conducting teaching-as-research (TAR) projects, co-teaching with mentors, and presenting their work to the wider teaching and learning community.

Please join us in celebrating the 2024-2025 graduates of these two instrumental programs:
