Adele Leon is part of the Educational Development team at University Center for Assessment, Teaching, and Technology, where she works with faculty across disciplines and instructional levels to redesign and update their curricula to engage emerging AI technologies and increase student engagement.

Prior to rejoining U of A, Adele was an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Writing and founding director of the SoFlo Writing Project at Nova Southeastern University, where her work focused on professional training and development for K-16 educators, revising Applied Professional Studies courses, and building Professional Writing curricula for undergraduate and graduate programs.

She earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English, with a focus on critical pedagogies and community writing partnerships from the University of Arizona in 2021. Her research engages structural and organizational issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, reciprocity in stakeholder-university partnerships, and writing across the curriculum. Her published scholarship can be found in Across the Disciplines, Literacy in Composition Studies, and Community Literacy Journal.
